What visitor say about Patlekhet Community Homestay

After returning to work, things got busy. Thank you homestay parents for taking care of me. Everything about this experience was great. Visiting the village, seeing the cattle and sheep, and my mother’s cooking class were all very interesting.

Awesome experience!! we´ve been spending a wonderful time with our "Nepali family". They were very welcome with us and is a very interesting community work to know about All the members of the community get together to gives us welcome and invite to meet what they do for living in the super calm rural side of Nepal. The location is very close to Kathmandu and in touch with nature. To learn about sustainable and organic farming and make special memories and loving friends.

Impact on
Community

The Patlekhet Community Homestay, established in 2011, has become a symbol of sustainable community-based tourism in Nepal. Operated by 16 women, the homestay provides an authentic experience of Nepalese culture and hospitality, while also serving as a platform for the economic empowerment of rural women. Patlekhet village is an ideal location for experiencing local organic food, traditional farming practices, and the warm hospitality of the local community. As tourism gradually becomes a tool to rebrand the traditional agriculture-dominant community, the homestay is playing a crucial role in facilitating this transition. In addition to providing a unique travel experience for visitors, the homestay is also contributing to the economic development of the community. It employs more than 10 other community members in the form of cultural groups, local guides, and farmers, thereby creating job opportunities and generating income for the local people. The impact of the Patlekhet Community Homestay extends beyond economic benefits, as it also serves as a vehicle for preserving and promoting Nepalese culture and traditions. The homestay offers visitors the opportunity to learn about Nepalese customs, festivals, and traditions, thereby contributing to the preservation of the country's rich cultural heritage.
