From Thamel (central Kathmandu): Take a taxi or private vehicle—it’s about 8–10 km and takes 30–40 minutes depending on traffic.
By Public Transport: You can take a microbus or local bus heading toward Budhanilkantha and get off near Chapali. From there, a short walk or local tuk-tuk will take you to the factory.
With the Experience Package: Two-way private transportation from Kathmandu is included in the experience, so you can travel hassle-free with pickup and drop-off arranged for you.
The full workshop lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours, including the factory tour, breaks, and the hands-on craft session. It’s designed to be relaxed but thorough, so you can really enjoy learning and making your own souvenir.
Not at all! The workshop is beginner-friendly. The local experts will demonstrate each step and help you create your own notebook and bookmark, so anyone can join in and have fun.
Yes, older children who can safely use basic craft tools (like scissors) will enjoy it. It’s educational and interactive. We recommend adult supervision at all times, especially during the craft-making.
Absolutely. After the workshop, you’re welcome to browse the display house where a variety of Lokta paper goods are sold. There’s no obligation to buy, but many guests love to take extra gifts home.
