You can take a bus or hire a private vehicle to Bharatpur, Chitwan (approximately 5-6 hours by road).

From Bharatpur, continue to the Tharu community location, about 30-40 minutes away by car or local transportation.

From Chitwan National Park (Sauraha):

The location is approximately a 1-hour drive from Sauraha. You can hire a taxi or use local transportation to reach the Tharu community.

By Air:

Fly from Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) to Bharatpur Airport (30-minute flight).

From Bharatpur Airport, hire a taxi or arrange transportation to the Tharu community (30-40 minutes).

Yes, Wi-Fi is available in almost every house.

Does the homestay provide drinking water?

Yes, your hosts will provide boiled water, which is safe to drink. We encourage guests to opt for boiled water instead of plastic bottles to help protect the environment.

Are there Western toilets available?

There is a mix of squat and western washroom facilities within homestays. If you need a western washroom, please let us know when booking; we can allocate it if it is available.

Do my hosts speak English?

Most of the hosts do speak little to basic English but they do have at least one member in the family who can communicate with good English for ease of interaction.

Are there any animals? I’m allergic to cats/dogs/etc.
